How To Reheat Frozen Gnocchi

Make sure to remember that this type of gnocchi needs to be heated right out of the freezer. Do not leave the gnocchi in the freezer to defrost prior to serving.

  1. This is the only way for cooking frozen gnocchi I strongly advise against making use of microwaves or ovens. It is best to use an large saucepan (or more than two pans to cook more Gnocchi) that is boiling. Stir the mixture gently while cooking and be gentle. It is possible to cover the pot, if necessary.
  2. This is another method that will ensure that your gnocchi remains intact. Place the gnocchi in a non-stick skillet sprayed by oil. Then, pour in some liquid and then cover the pan with a lid. Cook until they've gone through the liquid and steam, then take off the lid. The bottoms of the pans will be browned in the remaining oil , then flip them over.

How To Reheat Cooked Gnocchi

If your gnocchi has been cooked and you're looking to cook leftovers, you'll have some other methods in your disposal.

  • If you cook on the stove: it is possible to cook plain gnocchi in exactly the same way as the gnocchi were frozen. Put them in a big pot filled with salted water, stirring them gently while cooking.
  • Making use of microwave: This method is particularly suggested for gnocchi dishes that already contain additional ingredients like sauce. Put them in a microwave-safe container, and then put in sauce and cheese if you like. They should be heated at medium-high for about a minute, and then flip them and cook until hot throughout.
  • Making use of an oven: I recommend this method for only the gnocchi dish and not for the gnocchi. Place your food in an oven-safe dish a second time, adding additional cheese or sauce if you would like. Wrap it in foil and cook at 350 Fahrenheit.

Sherry - May 5, 2024

I’ve made a huge batch of homemade butternut gnocchi recently, however I overworked them and they where tough when I cooked them. I have a bag frozen from fresh gnocchi of what we did not cook, but am unsure how to repurpose them in a recipe that makes them more tender…. I was thinking maybe a chicken stew and using them instead of dumplings? Any ideas? I just hate to throw them out as I put so much time and effort into them.
